Hello Mean Green Family, we are running to better represent you! Our platform is focused on four central pillars: Synergy, Outreach, Assured, and Redefine. Below you will see a reflection of our effort through our various goals that we plan to accomplish if elected by this amazing student body. We plan to Synergize our campus, Outreach to our entire community, Assure that student voices are heard, and Redefine who we are as a student body. With you, we want to SOAR Together!

Synergy

  • Focus on uniting and connecting our student body to the campus.
  • Organize president round table meetings for student organizations
  • Receive feedback from student organizations on what their needs are
  • Student focus groups centered on retention in leadership, do this in collaboration with campus departments.
  • Develop a more inclusive and welcoming campus community, and create partnerships with different campus departments.

Outreach

  • Reintroducing tampon/pad initiative started by the Kara/Thomas Administration
  • Students can’t afford multiple textbooks and access codes for courses, working with UNT Libraries to increase the selection of textbooks offered.
  • Textbook Donation Drive, students can donate gently used textbooks for students who aren’t able to afford textbooks.
  • Working with departments to help increase UNT’s clothing initiatives. (i.e. Suit Up, and OUTfits Clothing Closet)
  • Increasing Dining Services:
    • Flex Rollover
      • Work with Dining Services to allow students the ability to have their Flex dollars rolled over into the next semester if unused.
    • Donate your Swipes
      • An opportunity allowing students who can’t afford meal plans to utilize unused swipes that are offered by other students.
    • Food on the go
      • Work with dining services in order to allow to-go boxes to be offered in the dining halls.
  • Mental Health Initiative
    • Having more services offered throughout the year versus just during midterms and finals week.
    • A week focusing on the betterment and improvement of mental health within our campus community
  • Bridging the gap between UNT’s main campus, Discovery Park, and the UNT Frisco campus through partnerships and programming, etc...

Assured

  • Technological Advancements
    • Work with the Information Technology Shared Services department in order to extend wifi services to parts of campus that it does not reach.
    • Increasing the bandwidth of existing wifi, in order to keep up with the usage demands from UNT’s ever-growing community.
  • Transportation Issues
    • Collaboration with Parking and Transportation in order to:
      • Assure that overselling doesn’t occur
      • Finding shared lots for students and faculty (many faculty lots are often left ¾ empty) and assigning more spots to student parking needs.
    • Cans for tickets
      • Demanding this service be offered year-round
    • Payment plans for passes
    • Accrediting parking passes on students myUNT accounts
      • This gives students a better opportunity to be able to purchase these parking passes.
  • Challenging administration to standby creating an inclusive campus, the concept of diversity has been achieved on our campus now it's time we include all identities and communities in conversations about the future of our campus.

Redefine

  • Increasing involvement within SGA
  • Implementation of Student Senate Committees within the senate so it can be run more efficiently.

    • Socials - Networking opportunities exclusively for senators
    • Welcoming Senators to work with SGA Executive Board
  • Student-led committee to work directly and help with the survivor’s advocate and their office.
  • House of Representatives: Leaders of Student Organizations who would represent their respective organization in a greater body with other student leaders, they are able to have a common source where issues can be resolved.
  • Development Initiative
    • Intern program
    • Reshift focus on developing these students
    • Engage them with more workshops
    • Professional Opportunities
  • Valuable information to utilize on and off-campus
