"Initially, I was super excited about all the opportunities available for students. While touring, I learned about conducting research on campus, social life for students, and the variety of course options and knew UNT would be a perfect fit for me. UNT felt like a place where I could accomplish the goals I had set for myself while also growing as leader and person. I knew that UNT would provide me with the skillset to make a difference in the world after graduating."
How have you gotten involved in campus?
"As an undergraduate, I had the pleasure of serving as the UNT Serves! Living Learning Community Resident Assistant and being a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, Eaglethon, and the Honors College! As a graduate student, I will remain involved in Eaglethon and am looking forward to exploring more organizations and research opportunities."
What advice would you give to a student who is looking to make the most of their time at UNT?
"Talk to your professors every chance you get! I have made so many amazing connections by just taking the time to stay a few minutes after class or stopping by a professor's office hours to say hello. If it weren't for one of my professors, I would have never considered a career in higher education. Also, remembering to be present throughout your time at UNT. While UNT has amazing academics, there are so many opportunities to volunteer, engage, and explore on campus. On campus, I met my best friends, picked up new hobbies and interests, and discovered my identity. Class should be a priority, but don't forget to join an organization, grab dinner with your suitemates, or attend a UPC event, too!"
How has your UNT experience been so far?
"I have loved every minute of my UNT career! I owe so many of my successes to the amazing UNT faculty and staff that has provided me with advice, encouragement, and kindness along the way. I found a second home at UNT and am so proud to be a member of the Mean Green."
What are your plans after you finish at UNT?
"After UNT, I plan on taking some time to pursue research grants and explore abroad. However, in the near future, I would love to earn a Ph.D. and work in higher education!"
