Student Spotlight: Jazmin Davis

What attracted you to UNT?  

"The reasonable cost is what attracted me but the beautiful campus and friendly students is what kept me from transferring. There are so many opportunities here that I didn't know about and so many services that help me as a student."

How have you gotten involved in campus?

"I am currently the President for our campus' National Black Law Student Association (NBLSA). It has helped me immensely to be in a position of leadership here on campus where I can guide and be guided as a neophyte in the legal world. We are hoping to bring more notoriety to the org because its cause is a good one that I believe in."

What advice would you give to a student who is looking to make the most of their time at UNT?

"Like most things you get what you put into it, but at UNT it is so easy to contribute/stay engaged that the saying should be more of a rule of thumb. There will always be times that things get hard, but that's where the more optimistic of students will thrive."

How has your UNT experience been so far?

"As a student and professional I feel much better about who am I now than at the start of my student career here. I think that I have gained confidence, knowledge, and experiences that I'll keep with me for a long, long time. I have learned a lot from my directors and coworkers at the Student Money Management Center and I owe so much of my development to those brilliant folks!"

What are your plans after you finish at UNT?

"My plans are to hopefully work at a financial firm for my first post-undergraduate job and then go to law school for corporate or financial law. I have a long road ahead of me but I'm confident in the skills and experiences I have to get me through it!"
