Student Spotlight: Leah Singleton

UNT Student Leah Singleton on Campus

Major: Hospitality Management

What attracted you to UNT?

When I graduated high school, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do yet and UNT offered a variety of quality majors to select from. They were also great at helping you find the right major for you. UNT has something for everyone and I love that!

How have you gotten involved in campus?

My sophomore year I became a member of The University Program Council (UPC) and I can honestly say it has been the best part of my college experience. Not only does this organization build community on campus, but it offers great opportunities to get hands-on working experience. I started off as a member, then became the Art Coordinator and now I am blessed to be the President of this amazing org!

What advice would you give to a student who is looking to make the most of their time at UNT?

Take advantage of every opportunity provided to you while you are a student at UNT! There are so many events, organizations, and other resources available to students and a lot of people don’t even know they exist. Look into this and see what UNT offers that could benefit you!

How has your UNT experience been so far?

I have loved my UNT experience so far! We have a beautiful campus with such a diverse and creative student body, which makes it exciting to come to school every day.

What are your plans after you finish at UNT?

When I graduate this spring, I plan on getting a job in event coordination. I would love to work for a city and plan citywide events!
