Through the We Mean Green Fund, the UNT Facilities' Grounds Team proposed to create an on-campus composting facility that will utilize brown and green waste produced by campus landscaping maintenance. This project is currently in construction and is scheduled to operate in fall 2021. The compost produced at this facility will be used to dress the landscape across campus, making the UNT landscaping process more sustainable. The Landscape Material Composting Facility will serve as a campus learning destination to showcase the positive effects of using recycled yard waste to nourish the campus landscape.
