Register Now for Freshman Parent & Family Orientation
Our optional Freshman Parent & Family Orientation is available now! Guests must pre-register to attend, no walk-ins will be accepted. The Freshman Parent & Family Orientation registration and itinerary are separate from the students.

Please note: filling out the parent information on your student's MyUNT portal does not register you for the Parent & Family Orientation.

About Freshman Parent & Family Orientation

Parents and family members are an important part of the UNT family and their support and interest are critical to a student’s successful adjustment to university life. See below for information about the 2021 Parent & Family Orientation program and how you can participate.

Orientation Fees

Due to COVID-19 safety restrictions, students are limited to up to two paid guests at orientation. Guests include, but are not limited to, adults, children, and/or infants. It is not guaranteed that a student will be able to bring a guest to orientation. COVID-19 safety restrictions limit the number of guests we can accommodate at each session. Each orientation session has a registration capacity of 200. Once the overall registration capacity is met for each session, guests will no longer be able to sign-up for orientation.

In-Person Parent & Family Orientation Sessions

At this time, we are planning to offer some in-person Freshman Parent & Family Orientation experiences for Summer/Fall 2021. Please note that this could change due to the evolving nature of COVID-19 and its impacts.

Parent & Family Orientation is a special program that runs concurrently with the student orientation program. This program is optional but highly encouraged. Through Parent & Family Orientation, guests have the opportunity to learn about the many offices, services, academic programs UNT has to offer.

While you and your student will have separate itineraries, you will be together during some orientation activities. Due to space limitations and COVID-19 safety protocol, parents will not be able to attend college meetings, advising sessions, or course registration. Parents will, however, be able to join their student after registration to help take care of payment if necessary.

Please note: guests must be pre-registered using the form below to attend orientation. Due to safety restrictions, we will not be accommodating walk-ins. Filling out the Parent Information section on the student's registration page does not register guests for orientations.
