Orientation Leaders are students who are selected to assist with the new student and family transition to UNT. Tasks range from leading small group meetings, to providing technical assistance on the myUNT website to comforting a student who feels homesick or providing assistance during orientation programs to answering general questions about UNT for incoming freshman and transfer students. Members of the Orientation Team must be flexible, perceptive, willing to take initiative, empathetic, and team-orientated. The Orientation Leader team goes through intensive training during the spring and summer. This unique leadership experience hires students to serve as Orientation Leaders working with new students.
Orientation Leader applications are availableon Monday, October 6 and closes Sunday, November 2. Interviews take place the weeks prior to Thanksgiving Break. Candidates will be notified of their status periodically throughout the process on the team prior to Winter Break. Candidates are encouraged to check their emails regularly.
