 This is your chance to become part of a nationally recognized dance team and represent UNT at athletic events, community performances, and beyond. Wondering how to get ready? Audition hopefuls will perform in various groups throughout each audition round. Cuts will be made throughout all rounds of our audition process. The entire audition process is closed to the public.

Audition Information

Day 1: Preliminary Round

Number Check-In-8:30 AM

Fight Song Showcase
   • Dancers will be sent the UNT Fight Song 4 days prior (Tuesday, April 21st) to auditions to perform in person on Saturday, April 25th
Technique Workshop
   • Technical skill combos and across the floor
   • Required Skills
   • Recommended Skills
Choreography Workshop
   • Dancers will learn a dance combo which includes pom and jazz sections
Routine Showcase
   • Dancers will perform the first two sections of team dance (jazz & pom) for the judges
   • Dancers will be dismissed

Semi Finalist Announcements

Participants (numbers not names) moving onto day two will be announced via social media @ntxdancers (Instagram and Facebook). Semi finalist will come prepared with a solo (style of your choice) to perform for the judges.

Day 2-Semi Final Round

Dancer Solo Showcase
   • Dancers will come prepared with a 45 second to 1 min MAX solo to perform for judges
Material Review (Dance Combo)
   • Reviewing and cleaning choreography which includes pom and jazz sections
   • Dancers will then learn a hip hop section
Routine Showcase
   • Dancers will perform the entire dance combo (Jazz, pom, and hip hop)
Gameday Material Workshop
   • Dancers will learn a sideline combo & one cheer chant

Final Round
Interview Workshop
   • Interviews will be in audition attire, no additional outfit necessary
Gameday Material Showcase
   • Dancers will perform the sideline combo & one cheer chant for judges
Technique Workshop
   • Technical skill combos and across the floor
Final Routine Showcase
   • Dancers will perform the entire team dance (Jazz, pom, and hip hop)
 

2026-2027 North Texas Dancers Squad will be announced in person. New squad members must stay for a new team meeting to receive program materials.
