Who we are.

The North Texas Dancers are a group of student athletes that embody school spirit, pride, and dedication. We are a part of the nationally ranked University of North Texas Spirit Programs, which consists of the North Texas Dancers, North Texas Cheer, and our mascot, Scrappy.

What we do.

Our team serves as ambassadors for the University of North Texas and helps promote spirit at various athletic events throughout the year. NTD performs at every home football game, men’s and women’s basketball games, volleyball games, soccer games, and community events.

Who we’re looking for.

We are looking for confident, talented and passionate dancers to join our team. Team members are responsible for conducting themselves in a professional manner in the classroom, on the field, court, and on the stage. This is an exciting opportunity, but it does not come without extreme commitment and dedication to our growth as a team, program, and yourself as an individual. We are excited for you to experience all that we have to offer! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Head Coach, Janae, at Janae.Green@unt.edu.

How do I get started if I'm interested in becoming a North Texas Dancer?

  1. Submit your video to janae.green@unt.edu

  2. Follow all our social media accounts to stay up to date with upcoming events!  Instagram: @ntxdancers, Facebook: North Texas Dancers, Twitter: @ntxdancers

  3. Plan a visit to UNT to meet with our dancers, coaches and attend a clinic (see clinic dates above). While in-person clinics aren't mandatory, they are the best way for us to get to know you ahead of time!

What is the timeline for recruitment?
  • Our interest form opens in August and will close January 15th.
What should be included in my Recruitment Video?

Think of your initial video as a highlight reel of what you do best. It should also include our required team skills and an introduction.

Will every dancer hear back from the Coaching Staff regarding their submission?

Yes! Please allow 2 weeks for the coaching staff to review your audition submission. If you have any follow-up questions, please reach out to Head Coach, Janae Green, at janae.green@unt.edu.

Is attending a prep clinic mandatory?

While recruitment clinics are not mandatory for recruits, they are highly recommended!

When will I be told that I have a spot on the team, if offered?

Offers will be given out on a rolling basis throughout the recruitment season. Offers could be given out up until auditions of May 2027.
