Student Org of the Month

What is it?

Think your RSO deserves some recognition this month?

Each month during the academic year, Student Activities recognizes one RSO for their dedication and hard work in fulfillment of their mission.

The reward for being chosen as Student Organization of the Month is a $100 co-sponsorship that goes towards your organizational activities (e.g., marketing, tabling, event). This RSO will also be recognized on social media and via other platforms. RSOs that win will receive priority selection for a storage locker in the Union for the following academic year. Lastly, organizations that receive Student Organization of the Month will receive 10 Talons Up! points!

To be considered for the SOOTM, an organization must be registered with Student Activities and in good standing with the university. Please note that the organization can only win once per academic year to allow everyone a chance to be recognized. Student organizations that receive student service fees are not eligible for the $100 co-sponsorship.

How to Apply

Ready to showcase your organization's impact? Apply for Student Org of the Month  by 11:59 pm the 15th of every month during the academic year, September through November and February through April!

Student organizations may apply for the award multiple times during the academic year, provided they have not won in a previous month.

It’s important to use specific and concrete examples to illustrate why the nominee deserves the award for work done in the last month. Provide specific examples about what the RSO accomplished and who benefited.

Eagle Awards

Each spring, Student Activities honors outstanding student organizations and individual leaders for their work during that academic year. Eagle Awards is an opportunity to recognize your RSO and leaders for their accomplishments. Awards include President of the Year, Officer of the Year, Event of the Year, and more.
