Students interested in the program must complete the UNT Talent Search application and report income and demonstrate need.
Students who apply to become a part of the TRIO Talent Search program must be:
A U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident, as defined below:
US Citizen
US National (includes natives of American Samoa or Swain's Island)
Permanent Resident (U.S. permanent resident who has an I-151, I-551, or I-551C)
Eligible Non-Citizen (Arrival-Departure Record (I-94) from the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service)
Not eligible are holders of student visas (F1, F2, J1, and J-2 Visas)
Student must be enrolled at one of the following schools: Denton High School, Gainesville Junior High School, Gainesville High School, Ryan High School, or Strickland Middle School.
During the academic school year, your Talent Search Advisor(s) meet with students individually and in groups for college preparation workshops. Workshop topics include, but are not limited to: academic skill development, test preparation, scholarship searches, financial literacy, career and college exploration, and personal development.
