Leadership and Community Engagement Cord image

The CLD Leadership and Community Engagement Cord is an initiative that recognizes graduating students who have participated highly in leadership experiences with a graduation cord. The CLD defines leadership and engagement experiences as any experience where the student held a leadership role or developed leadership skills that positively impacted themselves or others. Leadership and community engagement experiences that are accepted are:

  • Shift Lead or Work Trainer at a Part-time Job

  • Paid or Un-Paid Internships

  • Campus Involvement Leader (Resident Assistant, Orientation Leader, Greek Ambassadors, Transfer Ambassadors, etc.)

  • Student Organization Leader (any position outside of being a general member)

  • Presenting at a Conference or member of Conference Committee

  • Conducting Research

  • Community Organization Leader (religious youth group, youth program mentor, national organization leader, etc.)

  • Community Service

  • Other Leadership Opportunities not specified above

 

 

Requirements

To see if you qualify, reflect on your experiences throughout all your years at UNT; hours do not have to be earned in 1 year:

  • At least 400 experience hours for all non-transfer undergraduate students

  • At least 200 experience hours for all transfer, graduate, and doctoral students

 

Other Notes that May be Helpful to include:

  • Graduating students will be notified to fill out the form about a month before graduation

  • If approved, cord pick up will be the in the CLD Office in the Union Suite 345 about 2 weeks before graduation

  • The CLD doesn't mail cords

  • Students do not have to pay for these cords
