Since 1952, the University of North Texas Fraternity and Sorority Life community has been a viable and integral part of campus life.

With four councils consisting of 39 fraternities and sororities, our Fraternity and Sorority community offers a unique and lifelong involvement experience. Membership in a fraternity or sorority can be one of the most significant experiences for a college student.  Our four councils offer a variety of organizations so that any student at UNT will be able to find a home.

Collegiate Panhellenic Council

All eight Panhellenic sororities participate in formal primary recruitment each fall semester.  Primary recruitment is a week-long event that ends with Bid Day celebrations.  Registration is REQUIRED to participate, and early registration is highly encouraged. Fall 2024 registration opens April 2nd! There are also opportunities to join the Spring semesters but not all sororities will participate during Spring recruitment. For more information visit the Collegiate Panhellenic Council How to Join page or sign up on CampusDirector.

Interfraternity Council

Students interested in joining an Interfraternity Council (IFC) fraternity can do so by participating in the IFC's formal recruitment process. Sign up for IFC recruitment to receive information about upcoming events.

Multicultural Greek Council

The Multicultural Greek Council sponsors an MGC Showcase in the fall and spring semesters. This showcase allows students the opportunity to come and learn specific information about each of the ten chapters represented in the council. Students are encouraged to ask questions and utilize this week to get acquainted with current members of the organization(s). Each recruitment process is conducted by the chapters individually.

National Pan-Hellenic Council

Each member group's national organization has different requirements for their Membership Intake Process. Each group will host an interest/rush
meeting either in the fall or spring semester where you can officially expre
ss your interest and receive details as to what is required to attain membership with their group.  During the academic year, NPHC sponsors the
“NPHC 101” a program to inform prospective members about each individual organization.
