Planning Your Living Experience

Thinking ahead about where you’ll live is an important part of preparing for college at UNT. Whether you choose to live on campus or off campus, UNT offers options and resources to help you find a place that feels like home.

First‑Year Housing Requirement

Most first‑year students are required to live on campus. To get started, be sure to apply for housing and review and agree to the Housing License Agreement as part of the process.

On‑Campus Housing

Living on campus places you in the heart of the UNT community. Residence halls offer built‑in support, convenient access to classes, dining, and campus resources, and opportunities to connect with other students. Explore UNT’s residence halls to find the option that best fits your needs and preferences.

Off‑Campus Housing

If you plan to live off campus, UNT provides tools to help you explore nearby apartments, find potential roommates, and learn about housing resources in the Denton area. Off‑campus living offers flexibility while still keeping you connected to campus.

Meal Plans

All students living on campus are required to have an Unlimited Meal Plan, making dining convenient and stress‑free. Students living off campus are not required to purchase a meal plan, but can still choose one if they’d like the flexibility to eat on campus.
