Talons Up! turns involvement into impact through an incentive based point system rewarding RSOs for participating in designated opportunities across five pillars: Lead, Serve, Elevate, Engage, and Connect. Organizations earn recognition points throughout the year, track their progress, and advance through Success Tiers as they demonstrate meaningful contributions to the UNT community.

1. Student Orgs must follow activity sign-up procedures as specified by the hosting entity. Sign-up/send as many org representatives as you like, but points will be issued once per activity.
2. Upon activity check-in, scan the Talons Up! QR Code to verity your attendance.

Important:
Student Activities will only issue points verified by QR code collected data.

In addition to privileges established by Policy 07.019 Student Organizations, new benefits are unlocked as student orgs achieve point levels:

• Bronze Organization 10 Points
  • Eligible for Student Activities Administered Funding (SOAR and SOFFA)
  • Eligible for Student Activities Equipment Checkout
• Silver Organization 50 Points
  • Priority Registration for Homecoming Picnic (If by Oct. 1)
• Gold Organization 150 Points
  • Preferred Location at Mean Green Spring Fling (If by the end of Fall)
  • Priority Registration for University DayTabling
• Platinum Organization 240 Points (Benefits apply the following years)
  • Priority Returning Student Org Registration
  • Auto Sign-Up and Preferred Location at Assigned Mean Green Fling Area
  • Head Start on Fall Event App Submissions (Spring as well if earned by Oct 15)

Talons Up! points are more than a score. They tell the story of an organization's impact throughout the year.  Every point earned represents involvement, development, leadership, and community.  As you build your calendar for the year, think strategically! Organizations demonstrating exceptional achievement are celebrated through end-of-year recognition, including:

Eagle and Golden Eagle Awards

Talons Up! Org Wars with special impact awards such as the Campus Connector Award.

Together, these honors celebrate the organizations that go above and beyond to lead, serve, elevate, engage, and connect at UNT.

Service

Organizations may submit service activities that demonstrate volunteerism, civic engagement, or community impact.

Eligible activities may include:

• Volunteering with a nonprofit or community organization
• Hosting or participating in a community service project
• Organizing a donation or resource drive
• Participating in campus or community-wide service initiatives
• Supporting initiatives that address a demonstrated community need

To qualify, organizations must:

• Play an active role in planning, coordinating, or participating in the service activity
• Demonstrate how the activity benefited a campus or community partner
• Provide the date, location, and a brief description of the activity
• Report the number of participating members and volunteer hours, when applicable
• Submit supporting documentation, such as photos, flyers, sign-in sheets, or partner verification

Collaboration

Organizations may submit collaborative activities that demonstrate partnerships and shared contributions toward a common goal.

Eligible collaborations may include:

• Co-hosting an event with another registered student organization
• Partnering with a UNT department, office, or campus program
• Developing a joint educational, cultural, leadership, wellness, or service initiative
• Collaborating with community partners on programs or events

To qualify, organizations must:

• Have an active and significant role in the planning and execution of the initiative
• Identify all collaborating organizations or campus/community partners
• Describe each partner's contribution to the activity
• Demonstrate how the collaboration enhanced the student or campus experience
• Submit supporting documentation, such as event flyers, photos, attendance information, or partner verification

Eagles Supporting Eagles

Show up for your fellow Eagles.

Recognize organizations that strengthen the UNT community by showing up, participating in, and supporting events and initiatives hosted by fellow registered student organizations and campus partners.

Eligible activities may include:

• Attending an event hosted by another RSO or UNT department

Encouraging organization members/following to support an event hosted by another RSO or UNT department

To qualify, organizations must:

• • Identify the hosting organization or department
  • Provide the event name and date
  • Identify the number of organization members who participated
  • Provide documentation of participation, such as event registration, photos, sign-in records, or host verification

Recognizes organizations actively participating in campus traditions, Student Activities initiatives, and designated university opportunities fostering involvement, school spirit, and a vibrant campus community.

• Attend a UNT Athletic Event (Must make a Campus Impact submission)
• Attend an event sponsored by another UNT RSO, academic division, or department (Must make a Campus Impact submission)

• Attend Presidents' Mixer | 10 pts. (October 20th)
• Attend Fall Finals De-Stress Event | 5 pts.
• Host a campus event-awarded once/long semester (Must make a Campus Impact submission) | 20 pts.

Recognizes organizations that invest in leadership development leadership, strengthen organizational capacity, and bring new knowledge, skills, and best practices back to their members.

• Host a S.O.L.D. on Demand Session
• Host a leadership/career development event (Must make a Campus Impact submission)
• Attend a conference/workshop (Must make a Campus Impact submission)
• CEO Prep | 20 pts. (October 21st - November 18th)
