How do I drop off items?

Students & Visitors can drop off found items at the Information desk located on Level 2.

Departments* can drop off items at the information desk as well in addition to a log sheet of the items being dropped off. You can find the form here: Lost & Found Log Sheet.

*To give us the best chance of returning belongings to students, it would be ideal to receive items on a weekly basis.

Lost & Found Sale
Policy 12.002 states: The University police department may dispose of abandoned and unclaimed personal property that comes into its possession in the course of performing official duties. This property includes, but is not limited to, currency, abandoned motor vehicles, bicycles, books, clothing, and electronic devices. Property held as evidence will be presumed abandoned after it is no longer valuable as evidence and is not claimed by its rightful owner.

Lost items are considered abandonded property after 30 days. As a result the University Union sells abandonded items at a sale once a semester. All proceeds go towards a scholarship for students. This allows the Union to contribute to the success of students while finding new homes for lost items.
