UNT has partnered with Canon Solutions America by providing an improved package program through Eagle Post at the University Union. The program modernizes how packages are handled, enhances the efficiency, security, and cost-effectiveness of the mailroom, enhances users' experience, and supports our university’s sustainability efforts.
Located on the first floor of the University Union, Eagle Post provides a curated selection of mail services including: Stamps, Postage and Shipping Services.
For all deliveries, please mark that the order must be “signed for” and give instructions to "hand it to staff". Please note that no items will be delivered to the dormitories both for the security of the mail and of the students.

EAGLE POST offers Smart lockers for package pick-up.
Most packages will be in the Smart Locker. If it is too big or too heavy, it will be behind the counter. If your email says it is behind the counter, please come with a photo ID ready.
Package retrieval in three easy steps:
All letters will come to Eagle Post, and be held at Eagle Post for students to receive. When a letter is received, it is processed into the system, and the student will receive an email in their UNT email account. When this email is received, the student can come to the counter during business hours to pick it up. Students must have a photo ID in order to receive their mail. All mail, including letters, are held for 10 days before being returned to the sender.
All letters, packages, and other mail will be held by Eagle Post for 10 business days before being returned to the sender. It is the responsibility of the recipient to collect their mail in a reasonable time frame. Eagle Post is unable to offer any refunds, replacements, or credit for returned items. We do not want to return your mail; please pick it up! If you are expecting to receive an item, please give us a full business day to process all the mail. Waiting for an email is usually the best thing to do if you are expecting an item. The notification will be in your UNT email, and make sure you check your spam folder just in case! If you believe you should have received an item, and it has been more than 24 hours since the expected delivery without notification, please come by the counter during our business hours to have our staff check for any items you may have. During peak mail seasons, it may take longer than 24 hours, but our staff can let you know.
For security purposes, a photo identification card is required when picking up mail of any kind. The UNT ID is preferable, but any state-issued identification card is acceptable. If it is in the Smart Locker, you will not need an ID, only your pickup code. If you need to seek the counter for assistance, please have an ID ready.
Beginning in the 2022 Fall Semester, all USPS white mail is consolidated and distributed at the Eagle Post mail room. All USPS white mail will be sorted, processed, and filed through the mail tracking system and you will receive a notification to your UNT email that you have mail.
Usually not: when mail is ready to be picked up, an email will be sent to the UNT email on file for the individual. Please check your spam folder when seeking this email. If it has been more than 24 hours, you may ask the staff at the desk during our business hours and they will be glad to assist you in checking for mail. Please have a photo ID ready when coming to pick up mail. A tracking number is also usually helpful in identifying any packages that you are searching for.
Eagle Post is a paid service that is included in the student housing fees of the dorms. So long as an individual is staying in the dorms, Eagle Post is an included service and they can continue to receive mail with Eagle Post at no charge. When an individual leaves the dorms as a “final move out” (e.g. the end of Spring semester) they will no longer be able to receive packages with Eagle Post, and any future items that come for them will be returned to the sender upon receipt. If the individual wishes to continue receiving mail at the Eagle Post, they have the option to rent with us. For more information on renting, please see “Renting a Mailbox” under our Services listed below.
If the building is closed, more than likely Eagle Post is still here to receive mail. Days the building is closed will not count against our 10-Day Holding Policy.
Outside of the Long Semester (i.e. Fall/Spring) we will have reduced hours. Our hours will change to be M-F opening at 8:00 instead of 7:30, and closing at 5:00 instead of 5:30 M-R.
We have a variety of postage and stamp options available for purchase. Please call or check in person for the latest prices. For sending a non-letter, please see our ‘Postage for Boxes’ section.
Eagle Post has the following options available for shipping. If you already have a label, or are otherwise dropping off, please see our ‘Dropping Off’ section. Eagle Post can sell you a variety of supplies to be used with First Class and Retail shipping rates. Eagle Post also offers the following Flat Rate options through the USPS:
If you are looking to send an item outside of the Flat Rate options, the price is determined by the size, weight, distance, and speed of travel. The maximum dimensions for a box we sell you postage for is 22” x 13” x 12” (inches).
UNT students, faculty, and staff may also drop off prepaid packages and boxes to Eagle Post to be sent out on the next scheduled pick up by each Carrier. This includes UPS, USPS, FedEx Express, FedEx Ground and DHL. We will be glad to tape your box/label for you if it requires taping. If you need to purchase postage, please see our ‘Postage for Boxes’ section. If you need to send a letter, please see our ‘Stamps and Letters’ section.
For students living in the dorms, the ability to receive mail with Eagle Post is already paid for. For students and staff of UNT who are not in the dorms, they have the ability to rent a digital mailbox for $70 per calendar year. In order to rent a mailbox, the following documentation is required; a valid Driver’s License, the UNT ID number, a working phone number, and an email address. Payment is required up front.
