Notetaking Services are offered to some students with disabilities as a reasonable accommodation. For this accommodation to work effectively, it requires communication between the student with a disability, the instructor, and the ODA. For more information about this accommodation and how the Instructor's role in providing this accommodation, please visit this Access to Lecture page for Faculty.
This page is specific to navigating the AIM module for Notetaking Services.
Because the ODA does not know the nature of each course or the method of instruction, we rely on responses from Instructors who receive an email from our Access to Lecture/Notetaking team to collaborate with us on how Access to Lecture/Notetaking can be, or is already, provided.
Once we have decided, in collaboration with the Instructor, how Access to Lecture/Notetaking will be provided in a specific class, we update the status in AIM and this is then able to be viewed by the Instructor and Student in their respective AIM portals under Notetaking Services.
If it states "No Notetaking Has Been Assigned", this often means that we are still waiting on a response from the Instructor. It could also indicate that we have heard back from the Instructor and are working to identify a peer notetaker or other Access to Lecture solution.
If we do assign a peer note-taker for a class, Instructors will see the name of the note-taker as well as their email address. If the note-taker has uploaded notes, then Instructors will see the link for accessing “Available Note(s) for Download (Click to Expand)”. Instructors can download and review any uploaded notes.
