Primary Care

The SHWC's on-campus clinic provides primary health care services for students enrolled at UNT.  Access to our on-site laboratory and radiology expedites diagnosis for our patients.

Examples of typical appointment reasons for primary care include:

  • Colds/Upper Respiratory Infections
  • Coughs
  • Diarrhea
  • Minor Lacerations or Wounds
  • Minor Sports Injuries
  • Nausea/Vomiting
  • Seasonal Allergies
  • Sinus Infections
  • Skin Issues
  • Sore Throat
  • Sprains/Strains

UNT students experiencing any of these issues, or other health issues not listed, are encouraged to make an appointment to be seen.

Laboratory

(940) 565-2779

The Student Health and Wellness Center operates a full-service clinical laboratory and provides hematological, chemical, and bacteriological testing. The Lab also accepts orders from outside physicians.

The Lab is a US-government-inspected facility that meets the Clinical Laboratory Improvements Amendment (CLIA) requirements. CLIA compliance ensures that the testing performed by the SHWC lab meets the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness requirements for quality healthcare.

Please note that the SHWC is unable to quote prices for lab tests sent to outside reference labs, such as LabCorp. Patients can contact the reference labs for price quotes:

Radiology

The Radiology department provides basic diagnostic x-rays for the SHWC. We also take x-rays for outside providers with a written order.
