Programs and Advisory Committees
The Office of Disability Access (ODA) supports a variety of programs and initiatives
that foster community, advocacy, and collaboration across campus.
Our student-led groups are created by students, for students, offering peer connection and support within disability communities. These include:
- Blind/Visually Impaired Alliance (BVIA) – A registered student organization focused on advocacy, awareness, and community-building
for blind and visually impaired students.
- Deaf Connect – A student-led group centering the experiences of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students.
While not a registered student organization by student choice, it receives full support
from ODA staff.
- ND Connect – A registered student organization for neurodivergent students, providing a space
for connection, empowerment, and shared resources.
In addition to student groups, ODA facilitates two Advisory Committees:
- The Student Advisory Committee and Faculty Advisory Committee serve as vital feedback channels, helping us stay responsive to the evolving needs
of our community. Members also act as champions for accessibility and inclusion across
campus.
Together, these programs and committees help shape a more inclusive UNT by amplifying
student voices and fostering collaboration between students, faculty, and staff.
