Warmly,
Office of Disability Access Staff
Dear Students,
Welcome to the UNT Office of Disability Access! We’re excited to support you.
Our goal is to help you fully access everything UNT offers—classes, buildings, programs, and more. Our team is made up of caring professionals who want to help you become more independent and successful in college and beyond.
We’ll teach you how to speak up for your needs and work with your professors. You’ll learn more about your disability, discover ways to improve your learning, and build skills that will help you in school and in your future job. Learning to advocate for yourself now will prepare you for life after college.
Once you register with our office, we’re here to help with any issues. If something isn’t working, we may ask if you’ve talked to your professor first. If that doesn’t help, we’ll step in and work with you to find a solution. Please reach out if you feel your needs aren’t being met—we can’t help unless we know what’s going on. And if it ever feels like you’re being asked to “negotiate” your accommodations, contact us right away.
Even though we focus on disability-related support, we’re here for you in other ways too. If you need help with anything during your time at UNT, we’ll do our best to connect you with the right resources.
We care about you and want to help. Don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.
Warmly,
Office of Disability Access Staff
